What is a restorative care program?
The Restorative care program is a short term goal-oriented reablement program focused on improving your physical strength and ability, helping you rehabilitate your body to an optimal functional level for greater independence and self-assurance.
We call our restorative care program the ‘Get READY’ program – a Restorative Exercise Approach Directed by You.
The Get READY approach focuses on achieving things with you rather than for you, placing what you can do and what you want to do firmly at the centre. We recognise that each person’s needs are different, which is why we take the care to assess and develop an individual plan that caters directly to what you wish to achieve.
We can help strengthen you physically with exercise and mobility: We use a range of stretching and strengthening exercises to help you stay strong physically and mentally.
If you enjoy swimming, we will help you build your strength, mobility and ability to access the pool or beach. If you want to walk more, our team can work towards increasing your muscle strength, and use other exercises to help with your balance and circulation and overall wellbeing. Exercise classes are also a great opportunity to meet new people.
Furthermore, if you have been unwell, we will work with you to get you back on track, restoring your physical wellbeing step by step.
